Cortland Acres nursing and health care services offer around-the-clock medical supervision and help with activities of daily living.  Care is provided by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants who work closely with other members of the care team including physicians, dietary staff, pharmacists, and therapists, to manage each resident’s need for additional help or more specialized levels of care and attention.

We place a premium on employing caregivers who possess excellent professional skills, with a natural capacity for caring and sensitivity.  We believe, above all, each person entrusted to us should be served with compassion, dignity, purpose and respect.

Neurological Care

Cortland Acres neurological care team has extensive experience and specialization for patients with neurological diagnoses including Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, and Guillain-Barre Syndrome.

Post-Surgical Care

Cortland Acres can provide specialty care for patients discharged from the hospital after undergoing a major surgical procedure who are not ready to look after themselves at home. Our staff will manage the medical and logistical needs required to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home while promoting function, safety, and independence in as short of a stay as possible. 

Wound Care

One of the only facilities in the are to offer wound care, Cortland Acres has a Certified Wound Specialist on staff. The specialist is available on a consulting basis to evaluate patients who suffer from a variety of wounds, which are often problematic, particularly in geriatric patients. At Cortland, an interdisciplinary approach is considered important in the prevention, care and treatment of acute and chronic wounds. Chronic wounds include those secondary to pressure, arterial disease, venous insufficiency, and diabetes. Wound specialists are certified through the American Academy of Wound Management.
