A dream of several insightful and faithful servants to their community became a reality in 1978 with the opening of Cortland Acres. Their commitment of providing a better quality of life for their neighbors and families inspired them to create a special long-term care facility. More than three decades later, this commitment remains steadfast and the vision has grown to include a full-service retirement community.

Throughout the years, the dream has grown. Leadership met additional community needs with a dementia unit, rehabilitation and fitness center and independent living development.

In 2011 those who continued to share that dream saw the need to broaden the funding streams of the organization and formed The Cortland Foundation.

The Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, will help Cortland continue to provide and expand quality care and services to our neighbors during a time when the cost of providing that care continues to increase.
